Project Description
This project involved the planning, demolition, and construction of a new Veterans Centre, replacing the municipality’s existing facility with a modern, accessible, and energy-efficient community gathering space. The project included the demolition of the existing building and remediation of hazardous materials, ensuring safe site preparation prior to construction of the new facility.
Acting as the Owner’s representative, our team oversaw the project from initial planning through final commissioning and close-out, ensuring alignment with the municipality’s functional, financial, and sustainability objectives. Responsibilities included representing the municipality, establishing and monitoring project progress, budget, and schedule, and coordinating design, construction, furniture and equipment procurement, and commissioning tendering.
The completed 10,000 sq. ft. Veterans Centre was designed to serve as a flexible community hub. Key program spaces include a large main hall, commercial kitchen, dance studio, and multi-purpose room, supporting a wide range of community programs and events. The facility was developed as a Net-Zero Ready building, aligning with municipal environmental sustainability initiatives and supporting long-term operational efficiency.
